On 7th June 1888, Shri Jaykishandas Ahluwalia, Shri Chunilal Ghelabhai shah, Shri Dahyabhai Bardolia and Shri Bhaidas Ichharam Reshamwala established a school opposite to government school no - 6 in Gopipura. They started the school in the name of ‘ The English School ‘ with only 11 students which was popularly known as ‘Dhingli School’. inspite of adverse and odd situations, the aforesaid four great education lovers with their personal debts continued to run the school. After 18 years of establishment of the school the Department of the Education decide to give Rs. 1500/- as government grant to the school, now the name of the school was changed to ‘ The Sarvajanik School’. It is interesting to note that Shah's wish was soon fulfilled, when largely owing to his own effort the Sarvajanik Education Society, as we shall see secured over Rs. 2,26,000 from the Tapidas and Tulsidas Varajdas Trust Fund and the school was named the Tapidas and Tulsidas Varajdas Sarvajanik High School. A well known name in the field of education, T.&T.V. Sarvajanik High School, Nanpura, Surat was established in June 1888.
