SSL English School is one of the famous ventures started by the Social Service League in the year 2010 while the Social Service League was started in 1911 by the Late Shri Narayan Malhar Joshi a devout modern social worker. The Given facts are the opening of the first public library in Mumbai at Chinchpokli in 1917, the opening first night school in India at Parel in the year 1922, and the initiation of several Industrial Schools for Women bearing the mission of Women's Education starting from 1924. Over the years it has grown its services and operations to embrace a textile training institute, entertainment facilities, and educational activities. The League, therefore, carried on with the tradition passed from Shri N. M. Joshi and it opened up a Cradle in 1989, meant for working women which is now in the process of being converted into a Day Care Centre. Later in 1966, the league began a Day School also in 1974 it established a Junior College, in 1975 the Pre-Primary school, and in 1988 a Social Worker training program.
