Cathedral Senior Secondary School has its root dated back to 1885 Founded by Rev. Fr. Norbert, O. F. M. Cap began his first experiment in tutoring with two boys known as Issac and Charles Claudius on the verandah of a priest’s house in Tossignano. He realized that there was a need for education hence started St. Francis School and an orphanage. Their founder by 1890 had started St Francis Boarding and Day School at the place that Cathedral School is found. The require land for St. Francis School was bought by the Bishop of Allahabad, Rt. Rev. Petronius Gramigna O. F. M. Cap in 1908. The school also known as St. Francis School shifted to its present location at 8, Shahnajaf Road in 1918. On the other side, orphanage named as St. Joseph’s Orphanage and high school named as St. Joseph’s High School also imparting their services in the premises of the St. Joseph’s Church. Cathedral School on Shahnajaf Road was always focused on the education of children and has evolved from a small-scale school to a prominent facility.
